Your Best Ideas Don't Happen in a Chat Box
Your AI's memory is made entirely of things you typed into a chat window.
That is a small slice of your thinking.
The line you underlined in a book. The idea on a walk. The whiteboard at the end of a meeting. The thing someone said that you wanted to keep. None of it happens in a chat, so none of it ever makes it in.
By the time you are back at a keyboard you have either lost it, or you are paraphrasing a paraphrase.
Three ways in
Capture is the part of Tabula that works away from the chat box. Open it on your phone and you have three options.
Speak it. Record the thought while you are still having it. It comes back as text.
Photograph it. Point your camera at a page, a whiteboard, a receipt, a sign. The text is lifted off the image and you tap the lines worth keeping. That reading happens on your own device, so the picture never leaves your phone.
Type it. For when you just want it written down.
Each capture is tagged as a quote, a thought, an idea, or a reference. Enough structure to find things later, not so much that you stop bothering.
Put it on your home screen
Tabula is not in the app stores yet, so you install it as a web app.
On iPhone, open tabula360.com in Safari, tap Share, then "Add to Home Screen." On Android, open it in Chrome, tap the menu, then "Install app."
It opens full screen and sits one tap away. That part matters more than it sounds. A capture tool you have to go and find is a capture tool you will not use.
The part that matters most
Captures are private by default.
Nothing you capture reaches your AIs until you turn on "In AI memory" for it.
That is an odd thing for a memory company to build. The obvious move is to funnel everything into the assistants and call it context. But not everything worth keeping is worth handing over. A half-formed idea. A line from a book you have not decided anything about. Something personal.
So you keep it, and you decide later. The boundary is enforced in the database itself, so a query that forgets to filter cannot leak a private capture.
Two doors, one library
Memory reaches Tabula two ways now.
From the AIs you use, when something durable comes up in a conversation.
And from your life, when you capture it yourself.
It lands in one library either way. Same search, same export, the same ability to read it, edit it, and delete it. The difference is that only one of those doors is open to your assistants, and you are the one holding it.
